I will be travelling in mid-Sept to Marseille for 3 nights, solo traveller. I can't seem to find anything Marseille related in the RS 19th France edition. Not sure why I don't see Marseille covered at all. Looking modest 1-3 star preferred, non-American style place. Port or near the port? Open to all suggestions. ty

In 2005 we stayed at the Tonic Hotel, which was located in the Old Port area above a McDonald's; we walked past it several times before we saw it. The hotel had good location, decent rooms and a lovely breakfast room. Whether or not it is still there is a wonder, but I can recommend it. You will like Marseille.

Rick Steve’s’ guide books are not comprehensive, dealing only with certain cities, regions. Look at Fodors or Frommers if you want a more comprehensive guide.
