Picasso In The Louvre?

Heading to Paris the end of June and I love Picasso. Should I do the Musee Picasso or are there Picasso pieces in the Louvre?

Picasso is a "modern" artist, so you will find his works in the Musee d'Orsay. Also at the Musee de l'Orangerie.

And yes, the Musee Picasso has lots of his work.

If you love Picasso and would enjoy seeing an entire wall of his paintings, go to the Musée Picasso. A year ago on my morning to wander in the Marais, I saw signs for an exhibit titled something like Picasso's Daughter and wandered in (since I had a museum pass) to see if she was an artist, too. No, they were paintings she'd inherited from her father. And there was a wall not much bigger than my living room wall with 20 or so paintings floor to ceiling. And it wasn't nearly as crowded as the Orsay. The Musée Picasso website would probably give you an even better idea of what to expect.

Not to mention that the Picasso museum is in quite a beautiful building, over and above the artwork displayed. The same could be said for the Orsay of course.

The Orsay is a great space, and has quite an assortment of goodies. Including a lot of Rodin, which I only discovered after visiting that museum. And a great lunchroom with an observation deck and real iced tea!
