For 3+ days in Paris (coming up soon!), I am planning to get a 10-ticket Navigo Easy packet when landing at the airport. It is supposed to be good for metro, buses and the funicular on Montmartre. However, I read elsewhere that at the top of the funicular there were security guards checking for photos on the metro card (different from the Navigo Easy I believe?) and fined them 35 euros each! I'm hoping the 10-carnet booklet does not have this requirement. Can someone let me know what this is all about?
The Navigo Easy is just a credit card like card; while it cannot be shared in use, it is transferable. e.g. you could give it to your friend arriving as you are leaving France and they could use the remaining tickets. No photo; no signature or ID.
The ND is specific to a person and is not transferable since it involves unlimited passes. The Easy loads individual tickets and those can be used by anyone. But one at a time i.e. two people cannot use the same card at the same time.
What is ND?
ND = Navigo Découverte card

Thank you!
Or you can still buy little paper tickets and give half to a friend
But you won't be able to buy carnets of tickets at very many stations any more - you can buy individual paper tickets at just about any machine, but if you end up buying individual ones, I don't know why you would buy in excess of your need.
What Kim said. You can no longer buy carnet of t+ tickets at a discount; you can only buy individual tickets at full price. The only way to buy a discounted carnet is to load on the Easy and then those cannot be shared among a group.
Yes you still can buy booklets of ten T+ tickets, i just did it 2 days ago with a client, they are phasing them out but they are still available in many vending machines
