Phone number issue

Hello all. I am trying to book train tickets and I have to fill in my mobile phone number. It is a number from Canada. I have made many tries including deleting the +33 then 001 then area code then my number. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Try +1 first, which is the country code for US and Canada, or else +01 (from one traveler's recent report). The + replaces other "outside line" or "international dialing" preambles.

Thanks. It turns out I had to leave the +33 and use 600000001 as my phone number and leave the Town box blank. I got that issue resolved only to get an error message saying due to technical issues your payment could not be processed. Called our bank and they cleared our Visa card to allow the transaction and I still get the error message. We may have to hitch hike from Paris to Avignon!

oui.sncf often doesn't work with US credit cards unless signed up to a 3D-Secure program: Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, or Amex SafeKey. Some of the cheaper rates accept payment by PayPal, but not all. Check prices instead at https://ricksteves.mytraintravel.com/ (US$), www.raileurope.ca (CAN$) and www.trainline.eu (€), which should each be more credit-friendly.

Generally, Canadian cards have a better reputation for working with these international sites, but If you're trying to book a budget OUIGO departure, see this recent thread: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/france/for-canadians-you-cannot-travel-on-ouigo-trains.
