Diana,

I've never seen phone cards, but haven't really looked for them. They sound like a bit of a "dinosaur", similar to Traveller's Cheques, but are probably still available.

Most people have a mobile phone these days (and sometimes more than one).

You can still buy phone cards at Tobacco shops, etc. Its hard to find phone booths anymore but you can still use the prepaid phone cards from your hotel room phone. You can buy a local one or international option.

Hi Diana, as Jenn mentioned, you can get one at a Tabac. Look for a World Talk card. It's $7.50 euros. I bought one last week at the tabac on Avenue de la Bourdonnais (between Rue Saint Dominique and Rue du General Camou). You have to tell them you're looking for a scratch off card to use in a pay phone (you can use it from your hotel, no problem). Have a great time in Paris!
