Need some feedback on this property in the 9th. Visiting in Oct, first time in Paris. How is the area?? Thanks so much .
I'm assuming you mean Paris Opera . This is the Palais Garnier and is a stunning example of Beaux Arts Architecture . The area has numerous other points of interest such as The Musee Jacquemart - Andre , and one of the original Grand Magasins , The Galerie Lafayette , with its Art Nouveau skylight , Palais Garnier - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_Garnier
So I see there is actually a Peyris Opera Hotel. Looking at a map it seems not to be in the best part of the 9th but see what Trip Advisor reviewers have to say about location.. It does get good reviews on TA.
It's fine and easy walking to many places. I know this area, in fact the street, very well. We lived not far from there, and we have close friends in a building 3 doors down. The national dramatic academy is at the end of the block, a traditional Latin-mass Catholic church in the middle of the block (bells every 15 min during the day), a couple Jewish temples, ethnic and French food nearby.... Several nearby restaurants are rated in Paris by Mouth. The buildings are 19th century.
I always wondered about this hotel, having passed in front many times. I have a short 3-night stay booked elsewhere, but may change to this one b/c the price looks so reasonable. Thanks for bringing it to my attention
My apologies ! I failed to read the OP carefully , and didn't realize this was about the hotel . I'm busy at the moment extricating my foot from my mouth ! Thanks to Norma and Bets for injecting reality here .
