Passion Monuments Pass -- more questions!

I first discovered that this pass exists by reading posts on this forum -- so thank you! I'd love to hear from people who have actually purchased and used it. We are traveling as a couple, and will be in Paris for 5 days prior to joining a Seymour tour in the Loire Valley. It appears that even for this very short stay, the 70-euro for two pass would definitely save us some money, even if we'll only use it a few times (Pantheon/panorama; Notre Dame Towers; Arc de Triomphe climb; St Chappelle). Plus it might give us flexibility to just "pop in" to other sites we happen upon, since admission will be free.

Has anyone here purchased and used the Member + a guest e70 pass? When you purchase the pass, do you get a pass number or some kind of virtual card? Have you had any difficulty pre-purchasing tickets, especially for the guest? Is there a place in the pre-purchase process where you enter a pass number in lieu of paying?

I understand that the pass will sometimes allow you to skip the ticket purchase line, but we will be in Paris in June, and it will be crowded. I'd love to be able (for example) to reserve the Notre Dame towers tickets for the first climb of the day. Can I pre-purchase these specific timed tickets (once they become available on line) using the pass, or do we just show up at the early time and join the line? I'm not sure how this would work since there is a strict limit on the number of people who can enter/climb at each specific entry time. It seems like we'd need to have the timed tickets in advance. If there's no way to use the card to obtain tickets for a specific time, I might re-think the decision to purchase the pass.

Finally, I'd love to hear of other places in Paris people have used the pass and would recommend as worthy of a visit. Thank you!

I bought it in October for my 3-week stay (around a Seymour tour, hahaha). I loved it and will use it again when I return this spring.

I first used it for the Pantheon which I meant to go back to because the crypt area was closed off the day I visited as they were installing someone new in a ceremony in a few days. I did NOT get back but I'll go this spring. I also did Hotel de la Marine which is kind of expensive but well worth it with the pass. I also used it at Basilica Saint-Denis.

One place I popped in to because it was covered by the pass was the Chapelle Expiatoire. It was interesting as was where they initially buried Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI after they were guillotined and then the chapel was built over the areas later.

I "meant" to get to Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie but ran out of time, hahaha.

There were a number of places on Mark's tour where it could have been used but he was using a group rate, I think and preferred to pay himself.

I do not know about the towers and timed entry. Jeanm, who is where I first learned of it, I believe said for Sainte-Chapelle she just walked to the security guard at the front of the line and was admitted. This may be the same things as the Towers although I do know you are right about their limiting the # of people per time slot. I expect the timed entry section of that website will tell you what to do because I am thinking you can access the Towers with a Paris Museum Pass as well.

After purchase they send you an email with a PDF link. I purchased it at home so printed out the PDF but also did a screenshot of the PDF and put it in my Paris file on my phone. I used that for entry although I had the PDF printout in my purse.

I am a solo traveler so don't know about the member + guest.

Editing to add: I came out ahead as the total of the things I went to exceeded the amount I paid.

Looks like I was typing as Pam was posting. I'll leave them s info here anyway.

I purchased a single subscription of the Passion Monuments Pass and used it at several sites last April. When purchased online you will receive an email with a virtual card. The pass is valid for 1 year from date of purchase. You do not need the virtual card prior to purchasing your tickets, but you will need it upon admission.

Each monument has their own requirements for tickets. Just start the booking process for tickets. When you get to the page with all the ticket options, it will either list the Passion Monuments option or you will need to click the arrow under "free visit to the monument" for a drop down of how the free admission is booked.

For example with Sainte-Chapelle you'll see that holders of Passion Monuments need to select "I already have a ticket".

Arc de Triomphe website tells you no need to reserve, just present your pass directly at the monument. Go to the security line, not the ticket line.

For the Pantheon, you choose the option for Pantheon and Panorama.

For the Towers of Notre Dame you'll see the Passion Monuments under tickets.

I also used the pass for the impressive Hotel de la Marine. Their audio guide is included and us well done.

The process is the same whether your requesting 1 or 2 tickets.

Hope this information is helpful.

Edited to add: I also used the Pass to save about €30 on my ticket to a concert at Sainte-Chapelle.

I purchased the Member + Guest pass to use last fall. You receive an email with a QR code which is your pass. It has the start date on it.
As I recall when you book a time slot there is a Passion Monuments option to book with no charge.
We used it for ND towers, Pantheon, St Denis, treasury at Chartres Cathedral, Hotel de la Marine, Sainte Chappelle, and the towers at Reims Cathedral. You can also use it at the Arc de Triomphe which we had seen on another trip.

Thanks so much Pam, Jeanm, and Katheryne. I'm glad to hear from people who have used the pass successfully (+ guest, too!) and happy to know I can use it to book a timed slot when one is required. It seems like a really great option for us, especially since we've been to Paris once before and are not planning to visit the Eiffel Tower or Louvre this time around. It seems like it would be ideal for the monuments we already know we want to see, and will give us the flexibility to see other places, as well.

Does anyone know how long this pass has been in existence? I'm looking at what I think is the most recent RS France guidebook, and don't see it listed in the Index.

Hi! For the bell towers Notre Dame, everyone must reserve a time slot online in advance, even if you qualify for free admission and/or have the Passion Monuments Pass, Paris Museum Pass, etc. Tickets/time slots are not available onsite, and there is no standby queue.

You'll need to reserve you time slot(s) at least a month in advance, since you'll be visiting during peak season, and there's even less of the "Free" time slots (ie. time slots for those who qualify for free admission, pass holders, etc).

When you reserve your time slot(s), select the option "Passion Monuments". This will allow you to reserve your time slot without making any payment. If you have the Duo Pass, and want to "bring a friend", set the quantity to 2. You won't need to enter any details about your pass. When you arrive, you'll show your time slot/reservation along with your Passion Monuments pass (physical, or virtual). It's timed entry, but there's no "skip the line", even with the Passion Monuments Pass (or any other pass).

An absolute maximum of 100 people are allowed to be inside the bell towers at a time. A maximum of 18 people are allowed at the top/the summit of the south tower, for maximum of 5 minutes (this is the only area with a time limit). There's a fixed amount of people allowed in each space at a time and visiting each of the 7 spaces has to be done in a sequential order. Depending on the day/time, you may have to wait 15-20 minutes to enter, plus you may have an additional 30-45 minutes of waiting time throughout the visitor route while waiting for capacity to open in the various spaces. But if you reserve the first time slot of the day, it won't take that long (the whole visitor route it should take approximately 1 hour).

I believe they launched the Passion Monuments Pass around 2021. I've had the "Duo" pass since around summer of 2022, and I've always gotten good value from it. But since the bell towers reopened, it paid for itself in just a few days... I'm in the bell towers far too often than I should admit, haha.

I used the Pass to see Sainte-Chapelle, Notre Dame tower, Conciergerie and the Hotel De La Marine when I was in Paris in early October 2025.

I walked right into the Conciergerie, since there was no line or reservation requirement. The visit is worthwhile and includes the chapel dedicated to Marie Antoinette and the row of jail cells.

I was able to walk past all the others in line for the Sainte-Chapelle visit. I had a 10:30 am time slot reservation.

I would not have thought to visit Hotel De La Marine, if it wasn't included in the Pass. I am glad I did. It was beautiful and insightful.

Unfortunately, the Pantheon was closed during my stay and the Arc De Triomphe tower was closed on the day I tried to visit. I would have toured both of these.

The ND Tower access opened 2 weeks before my visit. I had a 9:30 am time slot reservation. This was my first time climbing the 424 steps to the top. The views were well worth the effort. I really wanted to see this and the "forest ". The Pass doesn't help you avoid the line for the ND interior visit. I waited in line for about 20 minutes to get inside, after i exited the tower. The rehab work is amazing.

It was still a good deal, especially since i avoided the line at Sainte-Chapelle.

Ruth, I don't think it has ever been mentioned in the Rick Steves' Guidebooks. I stumbled across it about a year ago as a ticket discount option when looking at the concert schedule for Sainte-Chapelle. Even searching the forums there were only 2 mentions of the Pass prior to 2025.

It really is a great value. As for as skip the line security, the biggest time saver is Sainte-Chapelle. Just show your pass to the moniter and they should let you cut the long line. At the Pantheon there was a separate entrance for Passion Passholders.

I saw a concert at Sainte-Chapelle last month and we got a significant reduction in ticket prices. It was wonderful. Though the seats were as close as sardines and the most uncomfortable I've encountered in years.

I got the pass for two for our one month stay in Paris in the Fall. We used it a lot. The only reservation I made was for climbing the towers at Notre Dame. We went into Notre Dame first without a reservation and the line moved quite quickly. We actually finished seeing the interior of the cathedral about 45 minutes before the reservation time and they admitted my husband right away. I opted not to go up because I was having a knee problem and I knew there were going to be a lot of stairs. I feel like we got a lot of value using the pass.

Thanks everyone for sharing so much information! I just came across this card today. Does anyone know if it also covers admission to the Treasury in Notre Dame?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if it also covers admission to the Treasury in Notre Dame?

Hi! No, the Passion Monuments Pass doesn't cover admission to the Treasury. The Passion Monuments Pass only covers monuments/sites that are managed by the Centre of National Monuments.

The main floor of the cathedral & the Treasury are managed the Diocese, the bell towers are managed by the Centre of National Monuments and the archaeological crypt is managed by Paris Museums. They each have different staff, different opening hours, their own reservation/ticketing system, and their own queues/entrances/exits!

To visit the Treasury, you'll need enter the main floor of the cathedral. There's no advanced reservations and no separate time slot/reservation is needed to visit the Treasury. Tickets (€12 per adult) are available on-site at the front desk of the Treasury.

The Treasury is located inside the Sacristy, which adjoins Notre Dame on the south side. The entrance is from inside the cathedral, off of the south side of the ambulatory, BEFORE you go down the steps to the south transept. FYI, if you miss the entrance before going down the steps, you'll need to walk around the ambulatory again.
