After a fly and drive exploration of Provance and the stretch between St. Tropez and Nice, my wife and I will be settling into a week in Beaulieu sur Mer. How difficult will it be to find on-street parking or an affordable parking garage near the train station? I am considering an early return of the rental car and depending on trains and buses to explore coastal Nice to Monaco. Does any one have experience with Batterie Car Park? Could I leave the car overnight and take it out occasionaly with the 1 week permit?

If you are staying at a hotel or an AIRBNB, you might do best by contacting the front desk or your host. I stayed a week without a car at BSM, and I can assure you there is also parking at the port and at Petite Afrique, a beach on the other side of the port and so-named on account of its humid micro-climate. It's a pleasant, 20-min walk from BSM Gare to the PA, but whatever little on-the-street parking there is would be found on the residential hills leading up from the two-way road, which has all the commerce but nothing more than temporary parking. Going in the other direction from the train station, there is probably less parking because Villa Kerylos and the Rothschild mansion attract many visitors.

We spend a month in Villafranche-sur-mer each year and only use the buses and trains for going up and down the coast and even inland. They have an excellence system and depending upon how long you plan to stay a SUD pass makes it super easy.
