Parking in Bayeux and Honfluer

Hello - Long time reader, first time poster.

In Bayeux and Honfluer, France, if you don't book a hotel with parking included, is it easy to find a place to park?

My wife and I are driving from Paris to Bayeux and then Honfluer at the end of May. Most the hotels with parking appear to be fully booked. One hotel told in Bayeux told me there is public parking nearby so parking is not a problem. Is that accurate?

We rented an apartment with parking in Bayeux last spring because of how limited it seemed in city center. We went to Honfluer for lunch one afternoon and found parking pretty tough to find in the huge lot in city center. I’m sure there’s parking on outskirts but I’d aim for accommodations with parking included.

It has been a while since we visited both those places one October, but I remember parking being difficult in both and paritcularly in Honfleur where the public parking lot was full and our B&B didn't have parking. They arranged for us to park in a reserved spot for a nearby resident who had died and thus wasn't using it. (it was a marked handicap spot for a particular home). It made me very nervous but we made it through the time there without getting towed. So yes, I'd want to line up parking if staying in either.

The time in Bayeaux where the parking lot exit machine ate our parking ticket and the attendant decided to just lift the gate so he didn't have to listen to our creaky French explanations..... il uh mange uh votre uh billet! Ha ha!

We used an AirBnB in Bayeux and the landlord gave us a pass to park on the street. I also seem to remember there were parking lots not too far from the cathedral.

Just did this in September.
In Bayeux there are a few "free" lots in or around the center but there's now a 4 hour limit, and in order to park there you must display a time card purchased at a nearby shop. The true pay lots weren't that expensive (at least for a few hours) and took my US credit cards with no hiccups. There is unrestricted free parking along Bd Marechal LeClerc - it's the one Overlord Tours recommended and it worked fine for us. I saw a number of vehicles that had obviously been there overnight. It's a short, level, 10 minute stroll from there to the Tapestrie Museum and Cathedral area.
In Honfleur there's unrestricted free parking in the large lots next to Naturospace. It too is about a 10 minute, pleasant walk into the town and the waterfront area. As with paid parking in Bayeux, the pay lots in Honfleur were relatively cheap and accepted my US Credit Card with no problem.
