Maybe I am brain dead but I cannot find the recommended free parking lot for the Overlord Tour starting in Bayeaux. They say it is called the Boulevard Marechal Leclerc parking lot but that does not show up on Google maps. Is it now called something else? I see the traffic circle by that name but the Parking Parc near that is Michel d'Orano and is it not free. I've looked at the City of Bayeaux's parking map and cannot find that park. HELP
What am I missing? Thanks in advance for your help.
It showed up on google maps when I put it in. It’s between two roundabouts along a main road or highway. It looks like a long narrow lot so you have to scroll in so you can see it. Otherwise the highlight on Google Maps is covering it up.
Exit the Rdpt d'Ornano traffic circle and head west along Bd Marechal Leclerc/D572. The free lot will be on your immediate right - parallel to the main road. I see it on Google maps and the street view feature shows it pretty clearly. From parking it's about a 15 minute level walk along Rue de la Cambette up to Pl. Quebec where the tour departs from.
There's plenty of parking in the early AM - the lot stretches for about a quarter of a mile.
