Paris - which of these tours/experiences would you do?

So one is a tour only of the Marche d'Aligre

I know that I don't NEED a guide, of course, but that doesn't mean one wouldn't enhance the experience...and I'm trying to maximize my experiences in the city I love so much ....

The one below also includes Lunch...if it matters, I plan on also doing a dinner with EatWith

Thank you!!!

Did I see 130€ to walk the shops that are open to anyone, eat salad and tarte and the purchases. No way. Rue des Martyres is an easy street to shop . It has an award winning patisserie, several excellent bakeries, charcuterie shops from different areas of France, wine shops, butcher, not many greengrocers but a lot of grazing by young people. We stayed in that neighborhood for several years. Is the host even a licensed guide or just a foreigner who has been there six years? You can have a French person, a volunteer, from the Paris Greeters program give you a tour for free after which you make a donation to the program. Just request rue des Martyres or another market street and a local will take you.
Okay. I just saw that you have the Marché Aligre possibility. Much better. She’s been there 25 years, you sample much more and get more info. Still pricey but interesting.
If you really want a tour, you can get a tour of the wholesale market, Rungis. Starts at 4 am but an experience you won’t get elsewhere.

Elizabeth, that’s a great point, lol!

The price on the Rue des Martyrs one includes lunch, so that’s why the price…but after I posted this, I decided it was a no go mostly because I don’t need another sit down meal

For Rue des Martyrs:

Is there a best place to start and finish? Grab a quick and easy lunch?

Any particular patisseries/bakeries/chocolateries that you recommend? I’m interested in all food shops, but especially those, lol

I don’t think I need a guide -I’d frankly rather just take as much time as I want to enjoy the area.

You’re right, the tour of Marche d’Aligre is expensive - it’s why I haven’t decided yet.

Are there any vendors/shops you can recommend S well?

Wow, 4 am - but that certainly would be something most tourists wouldn’t think of!

I was going to make a separate post about the Marche and Rue des Martyrs, but I don’t think I need to anymore

Thank you SO much!!
