Will be in Paris during the first half of March. Would love to hear the types of weather we might have. I’ve got many layers, but not sure if I’ll need them all. We’re staying in the 9th arr. but will be spending much of our days either walking around or visiting museums.

You can find at least ten years' worth of actual, day-by-day weather statistics on the website timeanddate.com. That's what I use for figuring out the full range of what I might run into. I normally look at the most recent five years. I think depending on average high temperatures or even average highs and lows is not a good way to plan.

For precipitation I tend to depend (too much) on the climate-summary charts Wikipedia has in its city listings. I compare my destination to my hometown.

Thank you for those links! We will be there from March 11-16 as well and its nice to see that it may not be pouring rain during those dates just based on historical data. :)

The only thing you can do is wait until the last possible moment to finalize your clothing, when you can see an actual 5-7 day forecast.

cold and rainy. Have a good raincoat/trench as a basic jacket -- it is good to have one that goes at least to the knees and a small umbrella. You can layer under depending on weather, but although it usually doesn't pour all day -- tends to shower now and then, it is likely to shower every afternoon -- and it may rain all day. Be sure to have waterproof shoes. I take lightweight hiking shoes on European trips which I wear with wool socks and this is very comfortable on rainy days.
At home -- we don't go out much in the rain -- but traveling we don't want to waste time. Paris is also quite beautiful in the rain.
I like to carry silk long johns traveling fall, winter and spring as they are super lightweight in the bag, but can take jeans or slacks and make them comfortable if you are outside in chilly weather.
It is unlikely to be freezing cold, but it is also unlikely to be warm. So cold and rainy and be happy if it is clear and sunny for many of your days.
