Paris visite card vs. Navigo Easy Pass

After reading a few posts here I was set on getting the Navigo Easy Pass. However, I just read Parisbytrain.com and see there is also a Paris visite card which may work for us. We arrive Saturday around noon at CDG and depart around 10:45 am on Wednesday in October. Our hotel is very close to Opera Garnier. I was thinking of buying the Navigo Easy Pass and using it for Roissy Bus to the Opera. Then refilling the Navigo Pass as needed. But having second thoughts because Paris Visite Card is unlimited travel for each day. Perhaps a 3 day Paris Visite Card for zone 1 to 3 would be better, plus it offers some discounts on some sites. Then buy the tickets or Roissy Bus separately? Any thoughts?

Perhaps we should state that there are Navigo cards and there are Navigo passes/fares which are loaded onto a card. You could also load an Easy card with a Navigo Day passes for 7.50€ each, costing less (22.50€) than the 3 day Paris Pass at 26.65.€

The Paris Visite offers convenience but costs more. I find the discounts of no real value.

You are in Paris for almost 4 full days and are traveling to/from CDG, if I understand correctly. I am not clear on how a 3 day Paris Visite pass, plus one Roissybus fare, is the ideal solution.

If you want complete coverage from CDG on Saturday to Paris for 4 full days and a CDG return on Wednesday, there are two options:

  1. 5 day zone 1-5 Paris Visite Pass - 65.80€

  2. Navigo Decouverte card (5€), zone 1-5 fare for Saturday (17.50€), Zone 1-2 day fare for Sunday (7.50€) and a zone 1-5 weekly fare (22.80€) or 52.80€.

Otherwise, just purchase a Navigo Easy card (2€) and load it as necessary.

there has always been a lot of pressure to sell tourists the Paris Visite, and it has always been overpriced. But convenient.

I haven't looked at the discount list they include to entice purchase but none of them appealed to me previously.
