Paris Visite - easy to use, comprehensive, the only card accepted on the OrlyVal. Available for any 1, 2, 3, or 5 day period.
Navigo pass - very inexpensive, requires a card (5€) configured with a photo and name. A variety of pass options are available, the weekly, popular among tourists, is only available for periods of Monday through Sunday.
Which option is better for you depends upon when you are in Paris and where it is you want to go.

The Visite is a tourist rip off and rarely cost effective. It can be convenient for a trip that doesn't match ND dates.
If you have a choice, always get the Navigo Decouverte. If your dates don't work for that, consider just getting a Navigo Easy and buying point to point tickets for day trips outside Paris.
