If we take Rick’s advice and train from Paris to Vernon/Giverny then on to Rouen where we’d pick up a rental car, is there anywhere in Vernon train station or nearby to store luggage while we bus over to Giverny/Monet’s garden for the afternoon?

Cheryl - There seems to be a luggage/travel shop in Vernon nearby that will store luggage for €4 per bag. It's called Holibag.

I have the same dilemma. I did try the website holibags and ended up sending them a message and got a prompt response. The website returns information in Real European time, so if you are checking at 12 EST it is 6 in France. The website says not available, because they are closed, need to check during their business hours. Because I want to arrive at Giverny early and the bag location ( I never finished the bag search) may not be open early enough, here is my solution. I was going to rent the car in Rouen, now I am renting it at the train station in Mantes La Jolie, a town before Vernon/Giverny, then drive 20 minutes to Giverny. Though car rental says they are open at eight, the first rental they allow is 830. They have to make sure my car is ready, is what I was told. I’m assuming if they open at eight and the car is ready I can get it a little earlier than 830.

That may be a better option, to rent a car before Giverny. Holibags say they store luggage, but I am not sure if there is time to get off the train, drop bags at Holibags and still make the bus connection. Seems there to be only 10 minutes between the train arrival and bus departure. Anyone know about this?
