Paris trip update

Just back from the week after Easter in Paris and wanted to share an update and help assuage any stress you may be having about an upcoming trip and the recent headlines

Please don’t change your plans.

Had I not been following the news and daily scanning headlines for news, I would have had no idea anything was happening. Really, completely normal regular days in Paris The metro and RER ran fine, taxies are plentiful and available and streets are cleaner than I’ve seen in Paris in the past. The one bit of advice is to know the pattern is Thursday is strike day , so on those days don’t book a govt run attraction like the Louvre , or sites like The Arc of T since they will close on strike day So on strike day plan a nice walking tour , boat ride on the Seine ( they are private companies ) and shopping and a long lunch. The marchers tend to gather around Place d Concord and march down Rue de Rivoli toward the Louvre direction so avoid those metro stops and areas around the marching time. Enjoy the trip

"Please don't change your plans." Not in the plan. Thanks for this updated information.

I have no intention at all of changing or altering my plans for Paris and France, maybe only tailoring them to the immediate circumstance, basically a tactical deviation, if it need be pertaining to public transport.

We are in Paris now and have not seen protestors or garbage. Luckily we read about the Thursday train strikes and are going to Versailles tomorrow (Wednesday) and the Louvre Friday.
