Paris trip

Hi folks

My wife's birthday is on July 14th so we're going to go to Paris. But we've been to Paris a bunch of times, and we don't want to spend the whole week there. We had looked for a backroads trip to add on but nothing worked out time wise. Anyone have any suggestions? thank you

What do you mean by a back roads trip? How much time will you have? What other places have you visited in France besides Paris? What are your interests when travelling?

There's a book called One Hour From Paris by Annabel Sims. It's basically a guided tour of many lesser-known towns an easy day trip from Paris.

Also, there are any number of longer, but still doable, day trips from Paris such as Amiens, Giverny, Senlis, Provins, Chartres, Fontainbleu and the Chateau de Chantilly. These are but a few; actually, there are many more.

Jerryacker,

“Backroads” for cycling?

If so, consider a self-guided cycle trip. Totally flexible with start times, since the vendor only needs to reserve the hotels, arrange for the bikes and arrange luggage transfers. You get maps and/or an app.

We’ve done this in the Dordogne, Loire, Burgundy and Alsace, as well as Puglia and the Mosel R. in Germany. On 4 of these trips, we got the vendors to slightly modify their offerings to suit our tastes.

For more info look at https://www.freewheelingfrance.com/

You can search by region and find multiple vendors and offerings … some as short as three days.

If that is what you meant by “backroads” and if self-guided cycling works for you and your wife, feel free to private message me.

If I misunderstood you … never mind.
