Paris Transportation with kids

Hello all!
I am overwhelmed/confused on the best tickets or cards to buy for our stay in Paris. It will be two adults and two children, ages 10 and 7. We will be in Paris arriving at Gare l’est on bThursday, July 13 and leaving for Disneyland Paris on Sunday, July 16. I am not sure of the best options for all of us. It’s been 11 years since I’ve been there, without kids, and I just bought the paper tickets. I’ve read they are being phased out.
If it matters, we are staying in the 7th and will mainly focusing on the main tourist areas (not Versailles).
Thanks so much!

I would get 4 Navigo Easy cards and load each with a carnet of 10 metro tickets at a discount. The 7 year old can get 10 tickets for their card for half price. On Sunday just buy 4 RER tickets Paris Marne le Vallee -- I believe these are 5 Euro each. 10 metro tickets is probably enough for the time you are there, but if you run out you can add individual tickets. If you have a few left, you can save them and use them next trip or give them to a friend who is going to Paris.

the initial NE with 10 tickets is about 19 Euro for 10 and up; the next carnet would be about 17 Euro (aprox). The cards have the advantage of being very stable -- they don't magnetize and are harder to lose or mix up than a paper ticket.
