Partner and I are going to Paris in a couple weeks. We are planning on taking the RER to and from CDG and using metro and bus to get around the city. Should we get the app, Navigo, individual paper tickets? All advice welcome!
What are your arrival and departure dates? This will determine the best pass for you.
The best deal is the Navigo weekly pass for €31.60. It is valid from Monday to Sunday and gives unlimited travel on Metro, busses and RER including CDG.
@jeanm Eight days, arriving on a Friday, departing the next Saturday. Does the 31.60 Navigo also cover the RER from CDG? And can we just scan our phone, not dealing with bus versus metro?
The €31.60 weekly pass from Monday to Sunday includes the RER to/from CDG.
One way ticket to/from CDG is €13.
Single metro tickets are €2.50, bus is €2.
You would have to do the math to see if the weekly pass would be beneficial for the Monday to Saturday portion of your trip.
All tickets/passes can be purchased at the station, on the IDF Mobilities app or through Apple Wallet on iPhone.
So you would need to buy your Friday, Saturday and Sunday tickets separately before being able to take advantage of the weekly pass on Monday.
I just did a similar trip, where I had a few days on either side of the Mon-Sun days my Navigo Découverte (weekly 31.60€) covered.
I purchased a Navigo Easy for 2€ and loaded it with 6 or 7 tickets just to get me through until Monday morning. Then I used my ND for the Mon-Sun portion of my trip. I then loaded some more rides on my NE, to get me through some odd days after my Navigo Découverte week finished up.
