We will be arriving at CDG airport early am and need to make a connection at ORLY airport 3 hours later.
First time in Paris. I would appreciate any information on our transportation options regarding time and cost.
Thank you.

You can take a bus run by Air France which connects the two airports:

Or the RER, which goes from CDG to the Anthony station where you catch a special rail line to Orly:

Either one, it's going to be very close with only three hours. A taxi wouldn't be faster than the RER. I hope it's a car rental you have there and not a flight! If it is a flight, you should try for a later take off time. I doubt you can make the flight.
i have to say, and sorry about this, but 3 hours is not enough time. Can you possibly change your flight from Orly?
Thank you. Now if I can get a later flight, is it possible to go from CDG airport and see some of the city before the next flight would leave around 6:00. Right now I get in a 7am.
Yes, as long as you get to Orly for about 4:00pm. You will be jet ;lagged and tired, however, so don't get too ambitious. Maybe a good long ride on the Hop on/Hop off bus to see the main sights, a nice lunch somewhere and then get yourselves to Orly.
To add onto Norma: if you take the RER into the city, get off at Gare du Nord and check your suitcase in the luggage check while you visit the city. Then you'd pick up your bag and continue your trip on the RER to Orly when ready to move on.
jf,
A connection from CDG to ORY might be possible using the RER. Each of those airports is at opposite ends of the RER "B" line and the travel time from CDG to Antony is about 1H:15M (AFAIK). One important thing about the RER is that it's not affected by traffic.
From Antony you can take the OrlyVal people mover to ORY, and it's a fairly short trip. You might be able to make it with about an hour to spare, but it would be "tight" and there are some variables (especially how long it takes you to collect your baggage and get out of CDG).
Here are your options.....
If it is a connection i.e. you are on a through ticket, maybe. And if you couldn't then the airline would take care of you, but if this is a separate booking, way too risky. There is no room for anything to go less than perfectly. It is an hour through immigration at CDG and an hour to make the connection and you should be at the airport 2 hours before a domestic flight -- less than an hour you may be actually shut out and that 2 hours is at check in, not just arriving at a bus stop.
Where are you going from Orly and is the flight on Air France? If you are going to a location in France on Air France, you need to check in 20 minutes prior to departure time. See http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/common/guidevoyageur/aeroport/enregistrement_hle.htm
I agree with the others, I don't think there's much likelihood that you can deplane, make your way through CDG (and customs/immigration if you're arriving in Europe), and make your way from the far north of the city to the nearer south in time to meet whatever check-in deadline the second flight would have. I wouldn't try that at all.
Yikes. The above poster not only mentions this company/app in all his/her posts, but must also calculate the time with no other cars on the road and wings on the car. Don't believe it.
A couple years ago we took the Air France bus between the two airports and it took two hours inside the bus due to all the traffic jams. I slept most of the time.
