Hello! My fiancé and I are traveling to France on the fall for our honeymoon, and I am trying to figure out what makes the most sense in terms of a transit pass for the days we are in Paris. We are only in the city for a few days, so I'm planning on the Navigo Easy pass with either individual tickets or a 10 ticket bundle. My question is if I can do this on the phone via either Apple Wallet or the Bonjour RATP app. There seems to be a way in the app to add a ticket, but only if you scan a physical Navigo card. Does anyone have experience with how this works? Can I buy the pass, scan it on my phone and then use my phone to pass through the turnstiles? If so, can I then add additional tickets just on the phone? I'd love to avoid a physical card if I can, the phone seems like a convenient option if I can figure it out. Thanks so much!
If I remember correctly the system doesn’t work with Apple phones, only Android. We were recently there and used the Navigo Easy cards.
Even if you could, i’d be a bit anxious that i wouldn’t have internet or cell connection underground to use it.
You may use any smartphone with either the Bonjour RATP app or the Île-de-France Mobilité app, a linked credit card, and an existing Navigo card, any of the Navigo cards.
You may use an Android phone, with a few exceptions, as a card replacement. You may not use an iPhone as a Navigo card. This was Apple´s decision. If you want to use electronic tickets, your choices are: Navigo card or Android phone.

A WiFi or G3/4/5 connection is only required when loading credit onto a phone. Android phones use NFC once in the transportation network.
Thank you all! So it sounds like I will get the physical Navigo Easy card, but once I link it in the app I can add value to it via my phone and a saved credit card. That will work!
Honestly, just get the physical Navigo Easy card - the last thing I want to do is pull out my iPhone to get through the Metro turnstiles. I get it - seems nifty - but the card works like a charm, you can put it in your shirt pocket, or just slip it into your front pants pocket.
I am no Luddite - I love using my phone to pay with Apple Pay, did it dozens of times on a recent trip to Paris, but for Metro, I would rather not be pulling my phone out, especially if I have other things I am carrying in my hands.
I hear you - I love the iphone apple pay process for the NYC subway system so I was hoping it was similar but it sounds like they physical card is the option here. Thanks all!
