I thought I would share our frustrating experience of trying to locate the tourist office. My companion and I found out that the Tourist Office at the Hotel de Ville has been closed. After going to the address on the website and walking around the building, no one was being allowed in the building and no one we spoke to could answer any questions about it. We searched for other locations and, with a conversation at a tourism sight, was told that the only locations in Paris are now the one at Gare du Nord and possibly a small office near the Eiffel Tower. We did get what we needed at a tourism office in the Galleries Lafayette L'homme building.
Welcome to the forum!
That's interesting because if you had asked I'd have said Hotel de Ville, lol. Good to know that is incorrect.
I know in other geographic areas (thinking particularly of Scotland), TI offices are closing as so much information is available on the internet. I'm glad you found what you needed but sorry you had to go hither and yon to find it. Was what you needed not available on the internet?
Yes, most tickets and transportation informatio is avaliable online. We have a group joining us and we wanted to get the Paris Museum passes for the group. They are still available in paper - but will soon only available online. It is sometimes nice to be able to chat with a TI person, but I will adapt.
You can purchase the museum pass from any of the museums included within the pass. You'll have the paper pass and be able to talk with someone. The Paris Office de Tourisme is almost obsolete as all pertinent information is available online.
