Our family of four will be in Paris for the first time for all of us. We only have 3 days there. I'm looking for a tour to give us all a good overview of the city and history. Any recommendations for private tour guides or commercial are greatly appreciated. We love the outdoors, history and architecture. Hate to say, not so much into the museum scene:/.....

I’ve enjoyed his videos of walks through Paris. He does private tours and you can customize what you want to see.
We enjoyed a couple of tours with Sight Seekers Delight. We did Le Marais & Montmarte. Many options to choose from.

I have used Paris Walks, https://www.paris-walks.com/index_m.html, and I believe Rick Steves has tour guides listed in his books. If you don't have one for Paris, maybe stop by a Book Store or Library and see what is listed in them.
Enjoy your trip.
I’ve been to Paris several times and 3 times when I was with friend/relative, we did Fat Tire Bike Tours and they all loved it! The cycling part is very easy and the guides share history throughout the rides, stopping at sites such as Louvre, Place de la Concorde, bridges, Eiffel Tower and more.
