Welcome to the Rick Steves' forum and your first post.

In my opinion, all you need is a guide book, a couple of Paris Walks (www.paris-walks.com ), a couple of museums and a couple of churches which you can do on your own.

I DID do the Rick Steves Best of Paris tour a few years ago and learned a LOT but it is more time than you have.

Usually this forum does better with a bit more from an OP such as when you are traveling, what kind of group you are, what kind of things you'd like to see. There is a restriction on post length but it's about 1,000 words so you can add a bit more description.

Hey! So I don't know what exactly you're looking for, like food tours or museum tours or whatever, or when you're planning to go and I've only done tours through one company but I really liked them. They're called The Tour Guy (and also operate as the Roman Guy, which I think Rick Steves has recommended?) and they have a few Paris options. I really liked the Eiffel Tower night cruise tour but you can check them out here:http://bit.ly/TTGParisTours
I'd also recommend taking the 69 bus. It goes past a lot of great sights and will help you get a feel for the city, but make sure to get on early in the route and not smack in the middle of Paris because it can get busy.

Paris truly doesn't lend itself to guided tours -- it is dead easy to do what you want to do at your own pace.
