I'm trying to book a ticket from Place De Clichy to Gare de Versailles Château Rive Gauche for May 26. The SNFC Connect website says 'Too early to know schedule'? It's only 38 days out? What am i missing? THANK YOU!

This ticket isn't purchased through SNCF Connect. It's on the RER suburban train and can be purchased at any RATP ticket machine in any Paris Metro station.

For clarity, I will add that there is no benefit buying the ticket in advance. Do buy 2 tickets/person in order to cover the return ("Paris-Versailles Chateau" and "Versailles Chateau-Paris" tickets are interchangeable) and avoid a wait at ticket machines in Versailles.
That's if you need a ticket at all: depending on your dates you may find that a weekly "Navigo" transportation pass, valid from a Monday to a Sunday, works well for your trip. It would cover the journey to Versailles.
