Steeves book on France indicates one should buy the TGV train ticket paris to Meuse and the shuttle bus ticket meuse to verdun at the same time, together. Where can I do this? I can find online only info on buying the train ticket.
If you look at the SNCF website you will see that the connection to Verdun is included in the rail ticket. http://en.voyages-sncf.com/en/
Thank you! I am still having trouble . I can only find paris to Metz with train transfer Metz to verdun when I request paris to verdun on the site you recommended. I don.t see any explanations of of
Shuttle bus etc. just TGV paris to Metz and a regular train Metz to verdun! Can you tell me exactly what to request?! Help!
The only train via Meuse is early in the morning:
Paris Est depart 08:10, TGV 2503, Meuse TGV arrive 09:09
Meuse TGV depart 09:22, Bus68267, Verdun arrive 09:52
Total 1 hours 42 mins.
All later departures go via Chalons en Champagne and take a lot longer, for example:
Paris Est depart 10:36, RE 39105, Chalons en Champagne arrive 12:08
Chalons en Champagne depart 12:20, Bus33083, Verdun arrive 14:08
Total 3 hours 32 mins.
If this is the one fast train of the day, that is probably why it is recommended.
This train is listed on http://www.voyages-sncf.com/ you just have to look early enough in the morning. It shows a fare of €45.50 for March.
Thankyou so much for the detailed info!
