How do you get from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport to Pau? - By train
This will involve more than one train, and not all of them will be TGV's (a TGV is just one model of train). You will probably have to take an RER train, and then the métro into Gare Montparnasse, which is one of the large terminal stations in the centre of Paris, and then a TGV and possibly another train from there.
You can look up times on: www.bahn.de
Enter: from "Aeroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle TGV", to "Pau" and a date and time

"Buy a rail pass or take point to point." - do not buy a rail pass, much too expensive. You are just going on two train trips (there and back). Just book normal tickets like everybody else. Book early to get the cheap fares.
You can buy tickets here: https://www.captaintrain.com/en
Go for the "print at home" option option if it is offered. You may have to buy a ticket in advance just from Paris Montparnasse to Pau, and pay for the trip into Paris (RER+métro) on the day.

The source of all knowledge for European train travel is www.seat61.com See what he says about passes. Depending on the country, a pass usually saves money if the traveller is spending a lot of time riding the rails, not just the two trips you mention. The big "however" is that what you call youth can sometimes get a break on a pass but there is no way of testing it without researching the costs of individual tickets yourself. Remember that buying tickets well in advance can snare half-price or even lower on major routes but it requires long-term scheduling. No deals on shorter, regional trips.
