Paris to Normandy

We are coming to Paris in September and want to take a day trip up to Normandy. Has anyone found a good company to buy a package through?
Thanks!

Normandy is a little far for a day trip from Paris, depending on your destination and how much you want to see.

Is your goal to see the D-Day sites? It would be much better to spend one night in Bayeux, take a full-day van-tour from there, and return to Paris after the tour, but you'd need to plan ahead on what you'd do with your luggage during the day.

Alternatively, Overlord Tours offers a slightly truncated full-day tour designed for folks staying in Paris. You make your own arrangements for the train from Paris to Bayeux (faster than taking a tour bus to Bayeux, meaning more time for the tour itself), and the tour picks up from the Bayeux train station rather than the usual mid-town pick-up point (saving more time). I think the price is around 100 euros. I took a full-day Overlord tour last year and really enjoyed it. There are other well-recommended companies (including Dale Booth), but I'm not sure any of them do essentially full-day tours from the Bayeux train station.

There's much more to see in Normandy than the D-Day sites, plus there are some good war-related museums, for which you'll have very limited time on a one-day tour. The area is worth a lot more than one day, which often comes at the expense of Paris itself. I'd seriously consider postponing Normandy until you can give it more time.

I have not been to Normandy before, but I just booked a day tour through the Caen museum, "D-Day Tour on the Anglo-American D-Day Landing Beaches." The guide will pick you up from the train station at Caen, give you a tour of the museum (including lunch) and take you to the D-Day sites before returning you to the Caen train station in time for the return trip to Paris. See link below.

We're doing a D-Day day trip from Paris using city wonders. A friend recommended them as they had a great experience. I did some research and then booked it. Long day departing 0700 returning 2100.

Of course there is more to do in Normandy that just a day will allow, but isn't there more to do everywhere than the time we have available?!

We did the full day tour through the Caen museum and it was fabulous! The young tour guides will likely put your knowledge of WWII events in Normandy to shame. It's a beautiful, easy train trip from Paris to Caen which will allow you to see some of the beautiful countryside, and you will not regret spending one of your valuable days seeing this beautiful and meaningful part of France.

Perhaps you can go back to Normandy on another trip when you have more time available!
