Which would you advise doing -- taking the train from Paris to Nice or flying? I know it says six hours by train but I think travelling by air might be just as long? Thanks for the advice!!!

Travel time is roughly the same. And the train will as a bonus give you some nice views of the Mediterranean.

Train is so much easier and relaxing. The seats are comfy...bring a bottle of wine and a nibble...civilized. plus great views!

Take the train! I even had a Countess and an Actor as seat mates. The Actor was getting off at Avignon for the outdoor theater in a production of Richard the "Turd" as he pronounced it. I explained to him that that might make some people laugh.
