My daughter and I are traveling to Paris in July. I am hoping to do a day trip to Mont Saint Michel from Paris and return the same day. Is this doable? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
It is "doable," but you will be doing it mid-day with thousands and thousands of others who try to visit this way, and hence will be packed shoulder to shoulder on the one, small, tourist-strewn lane leading up to the abbey. I highly recommend finding a way to stay on the island (preferable) or just off-island for one night so you can enjoy how peaceful and beautiful it is on the hours before and after when the tour buses drop the hoards off. Pardon the pun but it is "night and day."
It's a long way to go for a daytrip. It will be about a 14-hour day. I suggest that you use Paris City Visions.
Doable? Yes. In any way an enjoyable way to visit MSM? Absolutely not. Much better to spend a night there.
Check out Blue Fox Travel’s day trip. Highly recommend them.
