Hello, We are looking to visit Monet's gardens from Paris. There are 8 of us and looking to enter gardens when they open and the be back in Paris early afternoon. We thought private transportation would be best. Does anyone have experience with this and could offer advice?
We are planning on going to Giverny with Tastes of Paris in May. This company is run by Lisa Rankin and we have had a food tour with her before, and stayed in touch with her over the last several years. You may want to consider contacting her.

Enjoy!
When you say private transportation, what do you mean? Specifically, are you looking for a vehicle that will transport just the 8 of you or are you looking for a private bus tour? If you are willing to do a bus tour, take a look at the Paris City Vision tour. I have not done it myself but I have a friend who has done several tours with Paris City Vision and gives them good marks and this is the tour that is linked to at the official site for the gardens.
Edit: This tour is 75€ per adult.
Practical information from the official source:
The link that Southam provided is to the website for the town of Giverny. It is not the official website for Monet's house and gardens and here is that link:
http://fondation-monet.com/en/
With that being said, it is often times necessary to search official websites and tourist office websites as they can often offer different info and you may find info on one website not available on another website.
I have no personal experience with private transfers from Paris to Giverny but taxi services/chauffeurs in France are allowed to carry a maximum of 8 passengers (9 total people including the driver) without needing to have a special license. If no one responds to your question with personal experience then google "chauffeur paris giverny" or similar phrases (you can google in English or French) and you'll get results for companies offering this type of transport service.
