Paris to Lyon

We need to get from Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport, after arriving from California to Perrache Railway Station in Lyon at the end of September.

What is the easiest and best way?
Fly and take the metro or take the fast train? I heard there is a train strike. I believe the airport in Lyon is an hour away from Perrache so I guess you would have to take the metro.
Is the fast train in Charles de Gaulle airport?

Trains to Lyon leave CDG just about hourly. I suggest taking the train. IMO, that is both the easiest and best way. Is the train strike still going on or going to be active in September? I have not been to Paris since May but I read that the strike is over. If you are unfamiliar with French trains, you can learn more about them at www.seat61.com.
You will probably arrive in Lyon Part Dieu station and then you could take a local train or a taxi to Perrache.

There is TGV service from CDG to Lyon look up the schedule to see if the time you want is on a set strike date . Otherwise you can catch it from Gare de Lyon same thing when you try to book you will see if it is on a scheduled strike day.
And I see that the fast train has service stopping in Perrache

Direct trains to Lyon Part Dieu are more like every 2 hours, Just before 10, noon, 2 pm. Then a 20 to 40 minute wait for a local train to Perrache. You could also take the T1 tram to Perrache.

I agree with Sam - don't limit yourself to Lyon Perrache. From Lyon Part-Dieu, you can get to the rest of the city easily. Just make sure you don't go to the airport station, Lyon Gare de Saint-Exupéry.

if your tickets are not yet purchased, consider a linked flight to Lyon.

No, I wouldn't fly to Lyon. The transfer from the airport to the light rail at St Exupery is a long walk, and the train from CDG takes you into central Lyon.

I've only been from Gare de Lyon. I stop for at least a couple nights in Paris before going elsewhere. Good that you can get a train straight from CDG.
