My family and I (wife and 3 daughters - ages 13, 11 and 3) will be driving from Paris to Morzine. We are staying with friends in Morzine for a few days at their chalet. I am looking at two routes:
Route 1 - east to WWI sites, Alsace, Switzerland
A. Drive from Paris to Verdun to pay respects - centennial of the WWI battle. Stay in Verdun.
B. Visit Alsace - drive to Colmar - 2 nights
C. Go through Switzerland - stay on or near Lake Geneva - near Montreaux - 2 nights. Enjoy Lake Geneva sites, Gruyeres, etc.
D. On to Morzine.
Route 2 - south through Burgundy to Annecy
A. Drive from Paris to Burgundy - 2 nights.
B. Drive to Annecy - 3 nights
C. On to Morzine
Any thoughts on one route over the other; and, things to do, places to stay?
Thank you,
John and family
