Paris to Chartres RER C/TER

IDF is showing limited service from Montparnasse to Chartres today. IDFM shows trip time from Pont de l’Alma leaving st 10:27am as having a 01h 39m trip time.

We have Decouverte passes, but where do we purchase TER tickets and about how long does that take to do so?

Is it purchased at Versailles Rive Gauche? Wondering if I would miss the connecting train while trying to find/buy my tickets at the transfer from RER C to TER.

I believe the station where you board the train to Chartres is Versailles Chantiers. So that is a 15 minute walk from Versailles Rive Gauche. Did you download the SNCF app and try buying them there?

Did you think of leaving earlier and taking the NOMAD reserved bus at 8:40 am. Takes longer because of a 55 minute wait at Versailles Chantier, but gets you to Chartres a it earlier.

Thanks for the correction. You are right.

First time on TER. I purchase on SNCF and hop aboard? Sounds too simple for France.

Check my edited reply.

Looks like trains from Pont de L'Alma to Versailles Chantiers go every 30 minutes tomorrow, 9:10, 9:40, 10:10, 10:40.
The 10:40 train arrives at Versailles Chantiers at 11:11 connecting to the TER departing at 11:21, arriving at Chartres at 12:06.
