Paris to Beaches then back to London- need advice

We have a 2 week trip planned for late June/ early July. Flying into London, staying a few days there with friends, then heading to Paris. Were wondering if it's too much to squeeze in a couple beach days in South of France before heading back to London for our flight out. A friend said it was an "ambitious" plan.

I'd love ideas of making this possible, with budget friendly options.

Thanks!

It would be a fine idea if you were flying out of Nice. Fly open-jaws next time and you can see more!

What does your friend know? It seems that people in the in USA increasingly are physically and mentally old before their time
Use it before you lose it; Take one of the fast trains TGV Paris to Nice or fly using HOP airline.
The beach in Nice is not all that great IMO because I've been to the ones in the carribean that have sand and not pebbles but you may like it. Otherwise do a little research "best beaches in the Cote d'Azur." that are short trip from Nice.

It's only a 2 hour hop by train to Trouville/Deauville from Paris. That would probably be more practical.

It is exactly for that reason, an "ambitious plan," that one should pursue it.

Much as said above, be prepared for the sharp pebbles and sand on the Côte d'Azur. Not much sand, and you have to pay to use a sand beach. Late June the water may still be less than warm.

Ambitious is right. 5 hours each way on the high speed train Paris - Nice. And then change stations in Paris Gare de Lyon to Gare du Nord, then the advance checkin for Eurostar then 2 and a half hours to London St Pancras. I would prefer the term courageous.

If you go to Trouville make sure the wind isn't blowing that day. Real sand though.

Do you live somewhere that getting to the beach is difficult?

Even if you take the train south, I'd still look at flying back to London. RyanAir, EasyJet, and British Airways all fly from Marseille, for instance. Near Marseille, Cassis and the Calenques make a lovely beach experience.

To be more efficient, use a multi-destination search function (offered by many airlines and on-line agencies). If you are crossing the Atlantic, fly into London, fly home from southern France -- Nice, Toulouse, Marseille. It will save you the time and cost of returning to London. Probably you will connect through Paris or some other gateway, even in North America. But the ticket won't be much more than your round trip to London if you count the price of getting to England on your own.

You can fly from Caen airport to Nice if it helps.
