Paris to Bayonne

Sometimes I get paralyzed after a lot of research. I need to go to Bayonne from Paris and wonder what train station to use? Gate de Lyon for fast train or is it easy to get that station by metro from all over Paris? Or is taking a slower train from other stations make for a better area to stay in? I’m looking for a place to stay in a good area near some sites but want the ease of getting to “whatever” station without several metro changes. Cabs are a possibility too with taking morning traffic in to consideration. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

You have no choice in the train station. Trains to Bayonne from Paris leave from Gare Montparnasse.

I'm not sure that it is a good idea to pick where you stay based on the one day that you will have to go to a train station. Depending how many days you will be in Paris, I suggest looking for accommodations in the one the first 8 arrondissements relatively close to the river. Odds are that if you do that, you will have at most one metro change to get to the train station on your travel day and you may even be able to walk to the station depending on your mobility and your luggage.

I don't see how you can be stumped with the trains choice. To go from Paris to Bayonne, nothing could be simpler, just go to SNCF connect website:

https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/

... and take your tickets on a fast train “InOui”

options from Bilbao to Florence or elsewhere in Spain.

According to the latest news, Florence is still in Italy, so I have difficulty understanding this part: :))

Of course Florence is in Italy and always has been. I’ve been there many times. I may go “ “elsewhere” in Spain from Bilboa.
One website said to use Gare de Lyon so my being stumped was from faulty information.
Thanks for the info.
