I currently have a eurail pass and was hoping to reserve my high-speed train ride from Paris to Barcelona online. It looks like I have to wait and book this at the train station once I get there but I am scared it will be sold out once I do. If it is sold out are there alternate routes I can take to ensure I get to Barcelona on time (I have already booked my hotel there)?
Hopefully you will find your information here.

If you bought your pass through an agent (Railplus or RailEurope) then you should be able to book Passholder fares thru their websites too.
You can book through Rail Europe's at http://ricksteves.raileurope.com/us/rail/point_to_point/triprequest.htm. For a direct train on this route (4 per day) the booking process should be easy.
- If your trip is coming up soon, and you have a pass that covers both countries, and you can't find a reservation online, then I also would not expect to find one at a station. They do sell out.
- If your pass covers, for instance France and Italy but not Spain, then you can only book a reservation as far as Perpignan.
- If your trip is more than three months away, then it's too early to reserve.
- If you can't get a reservation on the direct train and want to explore trains with connections, it can help to break up the request, adding each leg separately into the shopping cart.
- An overnight train from Paris to Cerbere and Port Bou is another option you could reserve.
