Paris to Amsterdam

What is the most economical way to travel from Paris to Amsterdam? We would prefer to take the train but it seems rather pricey. Which train is most economical?
Thank you!

There is only one train connection: the Thalys. Advance-bought tickets can be as cheap as EUR 35, depending on weekday and hour. Check at the Thalys website.

Travel date? The fares on most European fast trains are much less expensive if tickets are purchased well in advance.

I randomly checked for February 23 and found lots of 55-euro Thalys trains.

I also checked flights for a random date in early April and found a lot of non-stop flights between $40 and $60 (US) on skyscanner.com.

There are Ouibus and Eurolines buses that would probably be a lot less expensive than the Thalys trains if you're traveling soon, but they take about 7 hours.

We took a Thalys train - and highly recommend it.

I had the same issue from making a travel decision Paris to Amsterdam too late.
If you are not in a hurry.
I ended saving a lot of money up using Thalys new budget line called Izy to get me to Brussels from Paris http://www.izy.com/.
It is a slower by about 40 minutes than Thalys but I got a 2 for 1 deal on the price.

Then I bought a ticket fixed price 45 euro ticket no reservation IC Train Brussels to Amsterdam on NS International https://www.nsinternational.nl/en . This is also slower by about 1 hour in 20 minutes than if you take Thalys.
