Paris- Thoughts on my very preliminary itinerary

This is for mid-June...the basics are set, but I'm sure I'll switch things around to a degree. For one thing, I want to try to fit in lunch at Alliance or Pierre Gagnier...if I can

****I’ve been to Paris a couple of times before, so that’s why this itinerary is not crammed with more museums.

I loved the L’Orangerie in particular. I might spend a couple of hours at the D’Orsay on departure day, or maybe in place of the crepe class

I also want to do a nighttime Seine boat cruise, and after hour tour of the Opera Garnier**

Monday Day 1 - arrive from London via Eurostar (morning)

Check into hotel on Ile Ste-Louis

Lunch/cafe

Explore Ile Ste-Louis

Maybe Notre Dame

Reys Ice Cream

*Bouquinistes (love them)

Shakespeare & Co
The last two may be done on another day

Tuesday - day 2

Marche d'Aligre tour

Canal St. Martin *Philippe Conticini *Ten Belles *JJ Hings

Wednesday - day 3

Rue des Martyrs *Mamiche *Bachir

Possible lunch at Lorette...or Mamiche

Pastry & Chocolate walking tour

Dinner: via EatWith, with a Parisian in her apartment

Thursday - day 4

Arc

Musee Jacquemart-Andre (also lunch)

Dinner: either Cafe Varenne or L'Ami Jean

Eiffel Tower - sunset

Friday - day 5

?

Lunch: Les Enfants du Marche

*Jacques Genin

Crepe cooking class 3:30-6:30 pm with chef at Caramel Sarassin

**I MAY cancel - only because it's a big chunk of time, and it would end at an awkward time for dinner (I don't want to eat at 9pm)

I could go to Crêperie de Josselin instead...and then I'd have extra time

Saturday day 6

Hotel de la Marine

Lunch: Le Petite Vendome

La Grande Epicerie

La Patisserie Cyril Lignac

Sunday - departure

Parc de Buttes-Chaumont ?

*I'll take a relatively late train back to London

I also want to do an evening boat ride on the Seine

Possible dinners:

L'Ami Jean
Cafe Varenne
Le Saint Sebastian
Le Recamier
Cafe du Coin
Le Cadoret
Fontaine de Mars
Cafe du Commerce
Les Deux Colombes
Le Tagine
A Mi Chemin
Caspian

Sorry to run on!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks!

I think Notre Dame is a must see - specifically since it just reopened. I also enjoyed climbing the steps the Arch of Triumph, touring the city on the top of a Big Bus, walking along the Sienna (took two boat rides) and the Louvre Museum. Loved the view of Paris from the Eiffle Tower

Very nice, but add some churches and one modern art gallery or museum, at least.

RVsalas, even though I put “maybe” next to Notre Dame, it’s a definite - but it all depends on what day I can get

I love the Arc - I can’t wait to see that view. Is climb up difficult?

I do intend to do a Seine boat ride at night, and probably an after hours tour of the Opera Garnier

Thank you!

Avirose,

I updated my post to reflect that I’ve been to Paris before …that’s why I don’t have any art museums on here. I love the L’Orangerie, loved Saint Chappelle…I admit l was insanely stupid in how I tried to see the Louvre, lol…

But the goal in my short time in Paris is to just enjoy the city, explore neighborhoods I’ve never been in…

If I cancel the crepe class, I can replace it with a couple of hours at the D’Orsay, or Louvre

Thank you!
