Paris taxi G7

Hi we will be needing a taxi from the Gare de Lyon train station to the holiday inn near notre dam - 4 rue Danton. Should I sign up for the G7 app to order a 5 person van, or just get one at the train station? We are on a tight schedule to get to the Louvre. Is the G7 app safe to use a credit card number to register? We will also be needing a taxi to the airport.... I read it may be cheaper than the Rossey bus to the airport . Thanks for any input! There is not scheduled any strikes when we visit

For 5 people a cab is probably cheaper than any bus or shuttle; order it up the night before -- which costs 7 Euro and the 5th person will cost 4 Euro extra there should be 55 on the meter with the 11 added or on an add on meter on the side. I'd just get a cab at the train station in the official queue. It will cost extra for the 5th person on top of the meter.

Are you taking a train to Gare de Lyon? If so, you want to consider using IDCab. That is the SNCF service that provides a car service with the driver meeting you at the station. I have used it and I love it because there can be waits for taxis at Gare de Lyon or you may have difficulty meeting up with G7 assigned taxi. The IDCab driver waits for you at the front of the car. JHK - great idea thanks. I am down loading the app, I see a review that says someone can't register a US phone number....
Is this taxi service also convenient to get to the airport?

I have only used the IDCab service as the last step of trains trip to Paris and my guess is that it is only for train trips and not a service for getting to the airport, but I do not know for sure. I last used the IDCab service in June 2017 to get from Gare de Lyon to a hotel on Rue du Cherche Midi after a trip to Barcelona. I just checked my trip notes and the cost was 23€. Taxi G7 gave me an estimate of 19€ to 22€ so I think the price of IDCab is competitive, but probably not cheaper than a regular taxi. To me the best thing about IDCab is that the driver monitors the train and waits for you at no extra charge if your train is delayed as happened for my family the first time we used the service. For the trip to the airport, I'd just schedule one the day before with Taxi G7.

As to the phone number, I have only a US cell phone and I registered my number and it worked. I don't recall for sure but I think you have to enter 001 for the area code and not just 1. I wonder if the reviewer with the complaint knew that.

You can book G7 Taxis by website. They are completely safe to register. And you order a 5 person van. No luggage fees apply.

What will you do when you go to the Louvre with your baggages??? There is no baggage check.

You can take the Roissy bus to the airport, but you might think about which is closer - rue Danton is a long way from the 14th arrondissement.

OP is going from Gare de Lyon to Holiday Inn Notre Dame, where I presume they are staying. Why would they go to their hotel first and then bring their luggage to the Louvre?

@ happy traveler, just take taxi to the airport. For 5 people that is cheaper than the Roissy bus. Plus, assuming you are leaving from the hotel, which is in the 6th arrondissement, getting to the Roissy bus stop, which is in the 9th arrondissement will be a pain anyway.

thank you all so much for the advice. We will not be taking luggage to the louvre, sorry that wasn't clear. Dropping luggage at the hotel before the Louvre - open until 6:00, then going to St. Chappelle - open until 7:00 ( I just want to walk in and see the stained glass) before heading to the Eiffel tower light show or a river cruise.
