There will be 4 of us arriving in Paris in April and we will have 4 large pieces of luggage with us. Will we be able to get a taxi that will fit all of us plus our luggage from the taxi rack? Should we pre-book a taxi such as G7 or hire private transportation?

Yes, there will be a minivan type taxi at the taxi stand that can help you. Just follow the blue foot prints to the taxi stand in the taxi dispatcher will find a vehicle that works for you.

There is no need to prebook a taxi. There are taxis at CDG that can hold your group. You may have to wait a few minutes for one but the dispatcher will match you and your group to a taxi that can hold you and your luggage.

I doubt you can even prebook G7 unless you are ordering a special car with car seats for children. The one time they mistakenly thought I was ordering a ride from CDG instead of TO CDG, they told me they don't do reservations there, 'just get in the cab line.' With 4 people they will probably put you in a van cab; there are plenty at the airport.

I have had great success with www.suntransfers.com in the past. I have used them all over Europe, including 5-6 times from CDG to central Paris. They have many options including large vans. You can book these in advance and the driver will wait for you just outside of baggage claim holding a sign up with either your name or suntransfers on it.
