I know, VERY American, but it is what it is. Nine years ago I was in Paris with my kids. The Warden couldn’t come ( someone bad to work to pay for the trip). We found a grey regular sweatshirt ( no hood) that had “Paris” embroidered over an Eiffel Tower. She loved it!
Well, now it has seen better days. I will be in Paris in two weeks and would like to get her something similar
Any ideas where I might find such a treasure?
You can try BHV or Galeries Lafayette. I know that H&M sells Paris sweatshirts and there are multiple stores in Paris. Otherwise, there will be souvenir vendors or shops that will have sweatshirts for sale.

it is what it is being VERY American, that's what we are and want.
few years back, my BFF whose french basque and paris is her favorite city make a day of going to montmarte and place du tertre. sit down for our bottle of champagne and appetizer, people watch, walk around the artists booths and buy our small framed picture or have one painted.
there are so many "tourists" shops with clothing and probably has something you're looking for.

we walked down a little bit and had the best french onion soup at la maison rose (pink restaurant at corner). sat outside along with our glass of wine/champagne and bread.
took taxi to "I Love You Wall", walked along small streets to moulin rouge for our wind blowing skirt picture like marilyn monroe. many small shops along the way with some souvneirs, bought my hanging clock of iconic paris attractions/buildings and red citreon CV vintage car. back to our apartment in the 14th. it was a fun day. good luck

Another thought...Would she be interested in a Sorbonne University sweatshirt? A few years ago, while staying in the Sorbonne area,
I stumbled upon the university gift shop. Of course I bought the sweatshirt and wear it frequently. I regret not getting a tote bag but it's on my to do list for a future trip.
