Paris stay, alternatives to 15e / Grenelle?

Bon jour people of Steves!

TLDR: Where else might you recommend staying that has similar qualities to the northeastern to central parts of the 15e?

Fairly quick pass through 4 nights. Have been to Paris 4x in life so far, but it's been a while. This time we (wife and I) will bring two 12 year old girls, both très tween at the moment.

Have stayed in various Paris locations, but did like the 15th a bit farther out from Grenelle. We prefer to take in monumental sites somewhat in passing (will gaze upon the famous buildings and tower, skip the Louvre, spend an hour at a smaller museum) and like to be more around everyday local good living and have everyday experiences where there are few tourists (in Iceland for instance we went to a suburban municipal thermal pool complex instead of the Blue Lagoon and were delighted with that decision).

We don't really need "lively" or trendy, but like good food, mild-affluence (aka pleasant blue or white collar working family areas), relaxed locals.

We are walkers. The girls are going to want to see the Eifel Tower, Bon jour people of Steves!

So! Where else might you recommend other than the northeastern to central parts of the 15e? I tend to stick with what I've liked previously but am trying to branch out a little.

Merci!

Hi!
I actually grew up in the part of the 15th you mention, so I am glad you liked it!

The mid-northern part of the 14th, around rue Daguerre or Pernety, has a similar vibe to the 15th. It is a bit less modernized and a hair closer to the working-class roots of the area (but there is nothing working-class about most of Paris these days...). It is not as convenient as the Grenelle area for sightseeing, however (no major attraction nearby).

Another suggestion, a little bit more different, would be the 17th around Villiers (near rue de Lévis): close to Parc Monceau and some very good local museums (Nissim de Camondo, Cernuschi), close to the lively and trendy "Batignolles" area (tons of restaurants). Very good public transport links, too.

There are dozens of other areas that fit the bill, but these two spring to mind. I prefer the 17th.

Thanks for the reply! And aren't you lucky to grow up in such a great place.

I'll check out the area of 17e you recommend thanks.
