While we are in Paris, we will be using the Metro and RER to travel around the city. We have seen these two stops listed as if they are one Metro/RER stop, but in other material they are listed as separate stops. This is also true when looking at different maps. Our rented apartment is close to Notre Dame and we will be using these stops daily. Thank you for any info about these Metro/RER stops.
Connected underground -- Notre Dame on island in the middle of the Seine, St Michel on left bank. Easy connection between Metro and RER stations. Enjoy!!
Thank you. Information makes sense now!
The stairway to the walkway under the Seine is just left or west of the front of the large hospital, Hospital Hotel-Dieu, that is adjacent to the Notre Dame courtyard. You can also easily walk over the bridge to the RER stop. Cite metro stop is also on Ile de la Cite, on the west side of the flower market (Marche aux Fleurs), around the corner from Hospital Hotel-Dieu, and we used it much more than the RER.
Similar situations exist with other stations. For instance, when there was only the Metro, there was a Chatelet stop and a separate Les Halles stop. Then they built the RER and made a Chatelet-Les Halles stop for it, with connections between this RER station and both of the Metro stations. This is important because some of the walks within stations can be very long - be prepared.
Cynthia,
We are planning to be in Paris in June & would like some information about the apartment.
I just sent you a PM (private message).
Thanks!
