Paris skip the line tickets

Hello.
I think I know the answers but just wanted to confirm with this group. Are the skip the line tickets that 3rd party offer really skip the lines or are they the same as purchasing the tickets myself online? I understand there will always be the security check. For example, I can purchase tickets for the Arc de triomphe and opera garnier on the official website but then I also see so many blogs and companies advertising the skip the line tickets. Are these just the same? Thank you!

Any ticket you purchase in advance is a skip-the-line ticket, no matter from where it is purchased. The only thing you ever skip is the on-site ticket line. The security line is the same for everyone.

There is literally no such thing as a 'skip the line ticket' -- this is hype by resellers selling precisely the same tickets sold by the official sites for more.

Before COVID those with tickets or passes used a different security line than those without and this generally meant little or no lining up. With COVID and most places requiring reserved time slots, everyone arriving pretty much has a ticket and so there is no line advantage. Because the tickets are timed though the lines are manageable.

e.g. at the Orsay there is a line for those with tickets on the hour and the half hour which is fairly common at special exhibits around town.

But never did re-sellers have special 'skip the line tickets.'

We bought our tickets in advance for the D'Orsay Museum, (for 09:30) and went right in. There was a line waiting to purchase tickets, but we got in the line for people who have already purchased tickets, and as there was no one in that line, went immediately inside and thru security. So it can be faster. (just have to comment that I LOVE the D'Orsay. Wonderful museum!)

That is what everyone has said -- there is no 'special skip the line ticket' but those with tickets use a different entry line than those who arrive without. These days though those lines can be very long. The Orsay line with ticket was about half an hour when we were there in April; in the past we just zipped in with no wait. Now most everyone has a ticket.

Some museums (e.g. Château de Versailles) have timed entry ticket which can potentially save you time if the regular security line is long.
