Earlier this month I enjoyed my cruise on Vedettes du Pont Neuf. Smaller boat with actual live commentator in English as well as French and Spanish. You can purchase tickets online for a small discount.

We enjoyed Bateaux Parisiens which is on Pier 3 near the Eiffel Tower. We got our tickets online . A seat on the top deck is great for magical views of the sunset on the Seine.
It is nice to do this at the beginning of your visit to Paris to get an overview of the layout of some of the famous spots in Paris. Before or after the cruise walk across the Seine to the Trocadero for views of the Eiffel Tower. It is especially beautiful at night when it is lit up.

I know with Vedettes de Pont Neuf it is almost obligatory to make a reservation ahead of time in order to be assured you get on the boat at the time you desire Peter

We've been pleased with the several trips we taken with Vedettes de Pont Neuf. We always walked up and boarded without reservations. But it appears that might have changed, so check it out.

All 3 of the river cruise companies cruise the identical route. But the Vedettes du Pont Neuf have live commentary. We have done the cruise with them several times and never did an advance reservation- just walked up, paid, and waited for the next boat. Undoubtedly the time of year makes a difference. However if you want the one cruise that will take place at sunset, then reserving tickets would give you peace of mind.
