Paris same-day PCR test

I'm planning to arrive in Paris by air early morning then take a train to Switzerland the next morning.  Switzerland now requires a PCR test to enter and the test must be taken in the country of departure.  Therefore, I'm seeking out a place in Paris where I can get a PCR test with results same day (or early next morning).

I see lists of PCR test locations but they don't state the timing.  Contacting each lab isnt practical so I'm asking for people who may be experienced.

I found 'Lab XV Mozart' which says you can do a PCR by 2pm and have the result by evening same day.  However the reviews I've read are pretty negative (being rude, not liking foreigners, not receiving results at all, multiple reports of bloody noses due to being aggressive).  I'm thinking I should have a backup plan.

I found "American University" where I can get a test and result back by 7pm next day.  This is a bit too late as I have backup hotel reservations (incase I can't make it to switzerland) that must be cancelled by 2pm next day.

Where are you staying? Did you get the information above from the Doctolib website? You can narrow that site search down to type of test and arrondissement.

It doesnt really matter where I'm staying as I'm willing to take the metro to anywhere in Paris to get the test.

Yes I've looked at Doctolib and as I mentioned, it does not state the results timing. Calling up every lab in the city to ask isn't practical.
That is why I'm asking if anyone knows of labs with SAME-DAY PCR results.

I recently read this on another Paris forum - perhaps it might be of help?

"We walked into a pharmacy for the PCR test near the Opera, right next to the Intercontinental hotel on a Sunday. No appointment necessary and results are guaranteed within twelve hours. The tent is on the square in front of the Opera but that is only for antigen tests. The PCR is done in the pharmacy. You pay at the register and then go upstairs to be tested. Results come in an email within 12 hours."

"I returned to Canada from Paris a few days ago, and had my PCR test done at the following location- Biogroup lab: 59 Rue Notre Dame de Lorette, 75009 Paris, France It's in the 9th. We were able to test on a Saturday morning and had our results within 2 hours. We had been told to expect results in 12 hours, but they arrived much quicker!
Staff spoke english, and we paid the standard 44Euro price."

PS -- another thought is to look into getting tested when you arrive at CDG - they have testing there (antigen and PCR). I believe I read that the testing site is located in Terminal 2E (but don't quote me on that :-)

Thanks, I wonder if all Biogroup labs offer results within 12hrs.

I did a quick google, found their website (can you tell I don't want to work today? LOL)
https://laboratoires.biogroup.fr/paris/paris/20-rue-du-pont-neuf?utm_source=Yext&utm_medium=GMB
There appears to be a few locations. There is also a phone # and an email address so perhaps you could try emailing? You didn't say what day you are arriving but they are closed on Sundays.

PS - the contributor above that I quoted having used Biogroup said "We had been told to expect results in 12 hours, but they arrived much quicker!"

Yep, already found that site and emailed them.
Looking further on their site they actually say results within 12hrs (except in exceptional circumstances).
Google reviews are very positive

FYI, arriving on Wednesday morning.

Thanks

Excellent! Sounds like you've got it lined up. Best of luck!

If you have a moment, come back and tell us how it went for those who might want/need the info in the future.

Just to report back, I used a "BioGroup" lab. Had to wait 45min in line but was able to get the test and result in the afternoon. No one ever actually looked at my test, but it's good to have in case of a random check.

Based on the Swiss Travelcheck website (https://travelcheck.admin.ch/home), it seems to me that you could take a PCR test OR an antigen test. The PCR tests take several hours to process, but the antigen tests are much faster, with results in as little as 15 minutes.

We flew home to the US from France on Dec 11. The US rules now state that a negative test must be taken the day before departure, so we obviously opted for the quicker antigen test.

You literally cannot walk more than two blocks in Paris without finding a pharmacy that will offer antigen testing. I'm sure most of them do PCR tests as well, but every pharmacy we passed had a flyer in their window advertising covid testing was available. We also saw multiple tents set up along the Champs Elysees to do testing. No appointment required - we just popped in. You complete a form (make sure info is correct and agrees exactly to your passport), and within 15 minutes, results are emailed and texted to you. The cost for us was 25 euros per person.

I got tested at Gare de Lyon train station a few days ago. There is a pharmacy there, in the station, and its employees were very quick, efficient, and polite. And it was open and providing COVID tests on Christmas Day!

There is also a pharmacy across the street from this station, and two or three more in the immediate vicinity, that are open at odd hours.
