Paris's Christmas Market Moved from Champs-Elysées to Tuileries Garden for Winter 2018?

According to this report in Le Figaro, there's a new development in the ongoing battle between the City of Paris and Marcel Campion, the guy who runs the Christmas market that was on the Champs-Elysées for the past few Decembers. You may recall that last year, the City did NOT give him his permit and refused to allow him to set up his market.

Well, now the Louvre has supposedly inked a deal with Campion to let him setup in the Tuileries. The article says that somehow the Tuileries Gardens falls under the purview of the Louvre and not the City (?!), so the Louvre can make this deal.

So . . . we shall see!

too bad the mayor didn't figure out how to get a decent market set up on the Champs Elysees without the rubbish sold in the current market. The Chicago Christmas market has more imported authentic European Christmas tat than the stuff sold in the champs Elysees market. We enjoyed just strolling and the street food and drink but the merchandise was ridiculous.

Yes, that was one of the big complaints. Campion said in the interview that this time he'll have 80% of stands being with French-made products or foods. I'll believe it when I see it!!

Are there any Christmas markets in Paris you'd recommend over others? We'll be there in December, and always enjoy visiting the markets. Thank you.
