Paris, Rue Cler, hotels to accomodate 3 persons

Hi,
We will be in Paris next April, but it is hard to find hotels that will accommodate 3 people. Most hotels have only doubles. Does anyone know of hotels or apartments in the Rue Cler area that you recommend for 3 adults We are looking for moderately priced lodgings.

Thanks,
Linda

I am not a fan of the rue Cler area for most visitors. It is relatively remote and has limited transportation options. If you are sure that you want to stay there and not in le Marais, Latin Quarter, or in St Germain dès Prés, I might have a few options if you can state your budget in euros.

Personally I like The Rue Cler area. Check out Hotel De L'Empereur. Two blocks from the Metro, beautiful views of Les Invalides, and some great restaurants close by.

Linda.. I would not limit myself to the Rue Cler area.. its not very central and there are so many other choice area.. that all have markets etc .. Find a hotel in a central area that suits your budget and never mind about if its specifically in the 7th.. I have been to paris over 30 times I imagine in last 49 years and Ive never stayed there.. in fact I only visited it once about 4 years ago to see what the hype was.. and was shocked that some find it so great.. its too out of the way for me.. I prefer being able to walk to more sights.. not just the Eiffel Tower.

Look on booking.com.. enter three people.. and look in the 5th and 6th too.. ( Latin Quarter or St Germain) .. you dont have to book through the site if you dont want to.. but it will give you names and more importantly reviews that can ONLY be posted if one completed a stay there. I have used it for booking and its a good site though.. up to you.. I always check out the hotels own website and see if they beat the price on the booking site.

We have gone to Paris three times and have always stayed in the Rue Cler area and like it very much. Have you checked in the RS Paris guide book for any leads for hotels? Always a good source of information. aloha charlie

We stayed at the Hotel Grand Leveque on Rue Cler with three adults. This hotel was recommended in Rick Steves’ Paris book. I would recommend it. Our room was not a room that you would spend a lot of time in unless you didn’t mind sitting on the bed. I loved the Rue Cler area and would stay there again. I have stayed in three other areas in Paris so I am very familiar with Paris. The only negative thing regarding Rue Cler was the number of American Tourists carrying Rick Steves’ book. 😜

I stay at Hotel de L'Empereur when I am in Paris , and have returned often . A strong consideration .

I, too, enjoy the Rue Cler area. I first stayed at l'Empereur on a RS tour and then have stayed there several times on my own. Look at their website directly instead of trying to go thru a booking engine. They do show a Triple and a Quad.

Will you have 3 adults or will there be a child in there? To me the hotel rooms in Paris are pretty small so if it's 3 adults I'd suggest you split up into 2 rooms so you've got 2 bathrooms and some space to open suitcases.

I've stayed in the Rue Cler neighborhood and also in the Latin Quarter. I enjoyed being very close to Rue Cler, but I, too, found the Latin Quarter to be closer to places I wanted to visit and transportation. I'm sorry that I do not have a hotel in the Rue Cler area that accommodates more that two, but in the Latin Quarter, I stayed at Hotel Familia which was moderate in price and does have some rooms for three. I stayed there with my two adult daughters. I will say that the room was on the small side, but it did sleep 3, and we had a traditional Paris balcony overlooking the street.

I don't know your budget -- moderately priced might mean something different to you than it does to me. But anyway, I am taking a shot at it. I assume that you mean three single beds, right? If you mean a double bed and a single, then take a look at the Hotel Londres et Eiffel's Pavillon room for three people. If you mean three single beds, spaced away from each other, try Hotel Duquesne Eiffel's superior rooms. They will replace the double with two twins if you request that configuration. It's about an 8 to 10-minute walk from Rue Cler.

jaimeelsabio - I am sorry that you found my suggestion to consider hotels other than those on rue Cler so objectionable; yet you recommend Hôtel Duquesne Eiffel. When was the Duquesne Eiffle relocated to rue Cler?

We stayed at the Derby Eiffel once with 48 people. I personally know of 2 rooms that are spacious and accommodate 3-4 people, only these two as many of their other rooms are quite small. The two rooms I know of are the top floor room with a peek at the Eiffel Tower and the garden/courtyard room. I’d communicate directly with the hotel to inquire about these rooms. This hotel is in the Rue Cler area.

We stayed in the Rue Cler at the Hôtel Relais Bosquet, 19 Rue du Champ de Mars 75007 Paris for about 8 nights in early July this year and found it to be delightful. It is one of the hotels recommended in RS 2017 Paris Guide book. Not sure about a room for three guests but I certainly recommend you check it out. The front desk personnel and the breakfast attendants were terrific and the room was very clean and quite comfortable. We plan to stay here on our next visit. Also, we loved the Rue Cler area as this hotel is about 1 1/2 blocks from several nice cafes, a boulangerie/patisserie, a fromagerie, three food markets, a couple of wine stores and other shops. The metro is only two blocks away and bus stops are nearby.

jaimeelsabio - Are we now to believe that the entirety of the 7th arrondissement is within the rue Cler area?

I am very familiar with the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel. Situated between two métro stations, Ecole Militaire and St. François Xavier, with bus line 28 and 87 running right past it, I have often suggested it to others for its proximity to and easy availability of public transportation; something that hotels on rue Cler (note the correct spelling) and adjacent streets lack which is the primary reason I would avoid these hotels. Rue Cler is a pleasant enough street, it just lacks access.

We stayed at the Londres Eiffel on our Best of Paris tour in 2015. My wife, son and I were given a lovely first-floor room right off the breakfast area with one double bed and one single. Not sure I'd call it moderately priced, but it's a delightful hotel close to the Ecole Militaire Metro stop, a 10-minute or so walk to the Eiffel Tower and not far from Rue Cler.

You may want to look at Hotel le Clement, in the 6th. I stayed there in February. They have what is called a Junior suite. It is a standard size room with a double bed, connected to a twin room with a twin bed. It worked perfectly for my group. We thought the hotel was wonderful. Look at the reviews on Trip Advisor.

I’m an American who now lives in Paris. I don’t find the Rue Cler neighborhood to be all that great for tourists (I used to stay there before I moved here). It’s kind of far away from everything.

My family visited me here for the first time and stayed in the 3rd arr., where we live, at Hotel Américain, on rue Charlot, which has triple rooms. The location is convenient and quiet. Reasonable prices, as well.

Personally, I like the rue Cler area, have stayed in three different hotels there and enjoyed each one. There is a metro station (Ecole Mliitaire) within a couple of blocks and many interesting places within very easy walking distance-for example, the Eiffel Tower. I think access to everything I'd want to see is very good from here. I've also stayed in the Latin Quarter, and the Marais and have enjoyed those areas as well. I think experiencing different districts in Paris is a good thing as each has it's own personality; I try to do that as often as possible :) Maybe, for your particular situation, two separate room bookings (as suggested by others!) is the answer. It's very hard for 3 adults to share those "standard" tiny bathrooms! I think you have gotten some good accommodation recommendations. Oh, I hope you love Paris as I do! I am so excited to be returning with my two eldest granddaughters next July!

edit to add: Sorry-I was composing before reading.....I see you have already booked a hotel-enjoy your time in Paris!!

I think you will enjoy staying at Relais Bosquet. There are three Christian Constant restaurants a short walk from the hotel. We loved Les Cocottes especially.
