Paris Restaurants - 7e, 16e, and 17e

all,
I'll be staying on the rue Cler for 10 days, early January 2026. I will be picnicking, but will want a nice hot meal too. I have Rick Steves Paris 2017, which is likely outdated and pre-Covid. I've been browsing the forum but would welcome any suggestions.
I think I'll be in a daze for the first couple of days so thank you.

In the 17th, restaurant "Le Touring" is excellent. Just a few steps away from l'Arc de Triomphe (metro: Argentine) . It's where locals eat.

The 16th is a huge arrondissement, during my time I stay between Auteuil and Passy. A restaurant I really like is Polo (metro Jasmin).

One of our favorites is Coretta in the 17th deep in Batignolles on the edge of MLK park and near the Pont Cardinet metro stop.

My favorites in the Rue Cler area are:

Cafe Roussillon - at the corner of Rue Cler and Rue de Grenelle

Le Petit Cler - on Rue Cler

Cafe Central - on the corner of Rue Cler and Rue du Champs de Mars

Di Felice - on Rue de Grenelle just east of Rue Cler by a block or so. Good Italian food although the last time I was in there in October with a group of friends the service was hit or miss.

Oniwa - Japanese food on Rue Cler. Good if you are not real hungry and just want something light.

La Terrasse du 7eme - Corner of Avenue de la Motte Picquet right by the Ecole Militaire Metro entrance.

And...January might be too cold but Amorino for gelato!

I ate at all of these this last October, some more than once. Well, looking at the list, all more than once, hahaha!

Restaurants that I have heard are good but have not eaten at as their menus are "meatier" than I like:

All on Avenue de la Motte Picquet:

Le Florimond
Auberge Bressane (food from Brittany and have heard their Grand Marnier souffle is awesome)
Cafe Max

Enjoy your time in Paris!

Auberge Bressane is definitely worth a visit. Really good food. Reservations are a must.

La Terrasse has some of the best people watching I've ever experienced. Open for breakfast too.

"La Terrasse has some of the best people watching I've ever experienced."

Truth! There is such a variety of folks, locals and tourists and if you are sitting in the right place, you can watch along 2 streets and the intersection, hahaha! It is fairly pathetic that I know that. I'm also entertained by the older locals in there (my age!). It can be busy as heck but they come in for a cafe and to read their paper and are treated with the utmost care by the staff.
